Chinatown Chinese New Year Celebrations 2017 Event Listing

The Singapore Tourism Board is rolling out a Roving Ambassadors’ Programme; a pilot initiative to help visitors explore Singapore by having volunteers provide general directions, answer to queries and provide recommendations. The programme's objective is to enhance visitors’ overall experience in Chinatown and discover its hidden gems. Volunteers are easily identifiable in red. Roving ambassadors avail themselves from 10am - 1pm, and 3 - 6pm on the following dates:
1. 16 December 2016 – 2 January 2017 (2 weeks)*
2. 16 March 2017 – 16 April 2017 (4 weeks)
*Excluding Christmas (25 Dec 2016) and New Year (1 Jan 2017).

People's Choice Sauce Tasting Event

Chinatown Business Association is organising People’s Choice Sauces Tasting Event on the 14 Jan 2017 from 2-5pm at Kreta Ayer Square. Come taste and cast your vote for your favourite XO sauce, Chilli sauce, Light soya sauce, Dark soya sauce and Innovative sauce. We have planned exciting programs and activities to include carnival snacks and goodie bags giveaway, free photo taking at photo booth, and stage performances just for you! You may also be one of five lucky winner of a 80 dollar voucher. All are welcome! See you there!

On 17 Dec 2016, Pagoda Street was converted into a giant playground with Chinese Yoyo, Chinese skipping rope and the spinning top. Don’t worry if you missed it, Heritage Playstreets by Singapore Wellness Association will be back in February and March 2017 with more fun filled Play Streets program. Play Streets program not only help our kids develop more active habits, they also bring communities together in a safe, fun space.
